Kilimanjaro Safaris (Animal Kingdom)
I would argue that the Kilimanjaro Safaris are the main attraction at Animal Kingdom. Sure, Flights of Passage is new and shiny, but that's just it. It's new, and won't be forever. Kilimanjaro Safaris, on the other hand, is just epic. But from what I understand, experiences vary quite a bit based on time of day and the season. Which is understandable since the animals will behave differently.
My fast pass was for Noon on a relatively nice day. In fact, that was the one day of perfect weather during my 2018 visit. Not too hot. Not too cold. And no rain (it rained overnight)! Because of this, the majority of the animals were out and about. Some of them were super active and came right up to the vehicle! The crocodiles were basking which was an eerie sight. However, the lion was asleep. The tour guide said he usually wakes up around sunset, and if you take the tour then or later he'll be moving around. Unfortunately, most of the other animals will be hiding or sleeping at that time.
You won't only get to see amazing animals during the safari, you'll also learn some fun facts about them as well as their endangerment status. Our guide also told us about the park's conservation efforts, which I found really interesting as Ecology, Biodiversity, and Conservation major.
My one complaint about this attraction is the seating. It's a minor complaint, but I think they try to seat too many people per row. This makes it hard to see across to the sides of the vehicle if you're on the far sides or in the middle. I had an end seat, so I had a great view of my side, but it was a bit hard to see animals on the opposite side with everyone else's heads in the way. Our tour guide did tell people to be mindful of this, particularly when holding out their cameras, but it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a baby giraffe running around.

We have done this several times in the past at Walt Disney World when taking our 4-5 y/o grandkids. Always fun. We recently visited to celebrate our 10th anniversary and had the chance to do it twice on different days. FANTASTIC! We saw more animals than ever before, especially on the cool/drizzly/rainy day surprisingly. I have yet to blog about it but have uploaded a ton of photos to my personal blog. We highly recommend it.
